When you upgrade from Windows Vista Home Basic, several Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 features are installed and enabled. The features are installed and enabled when you upgrade to the following Windows Vista editions:
- Windows Vista Home Premium
- Windows Vista Business
- Windows Vista Ultimate
Windows Vista Home Basic includes the following IIS 7.0 feature. This feature is included in the
Common Http Features list.
After you upgrade from Windows Vista Home Basic to one of the Windows Vista editions that are listed in the "Introduction" section, the following IIS 7.0 features are installed and enabled. These features are included in the
Common Http Features list.
- Default Document
- Directory Browsing
- Static Content
Additionally, the following IIS 7.0 feature is installed and enabled after the upgrade. This feature is included in the
Performance Features list.
- Static Content Compression

Note To see the IIS 7.0 features that are installed and enabled, follow these steps:
- Click Start, type appwiz.cpl in the Start Search box, and then click appwiz.cpl in the Programs list.
- Under Tasks, click Turn Windows features on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
- In the Windows Features dialog box, expand Internet Information Services, and then expand World Wide Web Services.
