Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • You perform multiple copy-and-paste operations in an Excel 2003 workbook that contains a large mapped XML range. When you click a cell in the range, Excel closes unexpectedly. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
    Microsoft Office Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    When you view the data in the error report, the report contains an error signature that resembles the following error signature.

    After you close the error message dialog box, Excel restarts and then recovers the workbook.
