Description of the Microsoft Windows registry SYMPTOMSWhen you try to sequence FactSet in Microsoft SoftGrid, the FactSet Setup program is unsuccessful. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Unable to map FactSet INI files to registry. This may be due to not having write access to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in the registry. Error: The system cannot find the file specified. Setup was trying to do the following actions: move FactSet INI files to <old> directory map INI file calls to registry (this requires registry access rights). WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, you must add registry values to the local registry before you sequence FactSet. Add these values to the virtual registry during sequencing.
To do this, follow these steps. Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
