Article ID: 931930 - Last Review: October 8, 2011 - Revision: 2.0 FIX: A file still exists if you try to use Windows Services for UNIX 3.5 at a NFS client to delete a file on an AIX-based NFS server
On This PageSYMPTOMSOn an AIX 4.1.5-based Network File System (NFS) server or on an AIX 3.2.5-based NFS server, you use Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX 3.5 at a NFS client. If you try to delete a file on the NFS server from the NFS client, the file still exists. Note This problem has been reported on AIX 4.1.5-based NFS servers. CAUSE This problem occurs because the NFS server does not finish the series of the NFS commands that are used to delete a file. Therefore, the file still exists on the NFS server even if you try to delete the file from the NFS client. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft.
