Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

• Consider the following scenario. You run Excel 2003 with a Microsoft Office Excel Add-In (.xla) file and a COM add-in file. You open a workbook that is automatically calculated when the workbook is opened. When the calculation is finished, you press F9 to recalculate the workbook. In this scenario, the workbook is not recalculated as expected. Instead, Excel closes unexpectedly. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
  Microsoft Office Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
  When you view the data in the error report, the report contains an error signature that resembles one of the following error signatures.

  Additionally, Excel tries to recover the workbook after you close the error message.

Service pack information
