MORE INFORMATION

To upgrade or migrate your Groove Virtual Office 3.1 account to Groove 2007, follow these steps:
  1. Back up your Groove account. To do this, click Preferences on the Options menu, click the Account tab, click Save Account as File, and then provide a file location to save your account.
  2. On the File menu, click Exit Groove, and then click Yes when you are prompted to confirm that you want to exit.
  3. In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs, click Groove in the list of installed programs, and then click Remove.
  4. When you receive the following message, click Save user and system data for future use, and then click Next:
Do you want to delete user and system data?
Note If you are running an earlier version of Groove, you may receive the following message:
Do you want to uninstall your user and system data during the uninstallation of Groove?
In this case, click No when you receive the message.

Caution If you decide to delete your user and system data, all Groove data will be deleted. This data includes accounts, workspaces, and messages.
  5. Install Groove 2007.
  6. Start Groove 2007.
    • The first time that you start Groove 2007, Groove automatically migrates the available Groove Virtual Office 3.1 data into Groove 2007. When this occurs, Groove 2007 changes the file locations and the registry locations as necessary.
    • After the migration is complete, your Groove account is automatically upgraded to Groove 2007.
  7. If your account is part of a managed domain, Groove may prompt you to allow or reject computer management. Depending on domain policies, Groove may also warn you that rejecting computer management will prevent configuration of your Groove account. In this situation, you must click Yes to use Groove.
  8. Back up your upgraded 2007 account. To do this, click Preferences on the Options menu, click the Account tab, click Save, and then provide a file location to save your account.

Caution If you have automatic backup through your organization, backup of the coverted account may not occur for up to 60 days. Follow this step to protect your account.
