CAUSEIn the new Windows Server 2008 cluster, all physical disks that can be clustered are in the Available Storage group until they are used by an application. After you install a SQL Server 2005 failover cluster by using the default disk group, SQL Server cluster resources are located in the Available Storage group. However, the Available Storage group is not visible in Failover Cluster Manager. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use one of the following methods. Method 1We recommend that you use this method if you have the original release version of SQL Server 2005 installed.
Method 2We recommend that you use this method before you install the original version of SQL Server 2005. If you have already installed SQL Server 2005, you must uninstall SQL Server 2005 before you use this method.
Method 3We recommend that you use this method if you have already installed SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and do not want to uninstall SQL Server 2005.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. | Article Translations
