SYMPTOMS

You use the Upgrade Wizard in Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 to migrate transaction-related data from Microsoft Commerce Server 2002. During the migration process, the Upgrade Wizard crashes. Additionally, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Microsoft.CommerceServer.Runtime.Orders.WeaklyTypedPropertyTypeException was unhandled Message="Weakly-typed property FulfillmentRunID in class PurchaseOrder with type String does not match expected column type Guid." Source="Microsoft.CommerceServer.Runtime"
This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • You use a weakly-typed property in the PurchaseOrder class.
  • The type of the weakly-typed property is GUID.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
