INTRODUCTION

This article describes an update to the Time Zone Data Update Tool for Microsoft Office Outlook. This update contains a change to the Microsoft Windows Installer package (.msi file) that enables you to install and use the Time Zone Data Update Tool for Outlook on computers that are running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 1 (SP1).

Note This update applies to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, Microsoft Office Outlook 2002, and Microsoft Outlook 2000 on computers that are running Windows XP with SP1. This update does not apply to Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 because the minimum operating system requirement for Outlook 2007 is Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2).

Important The information in this article applies to the Time Zone Data Update Tool to update calendar entries in Outlook. It does not apply to the time zone update for the Windows XP operating system. Note The "Hotfix download available" form displays the languages for which the feature is available. If you do not see your language, it is because the feature is not available for that language.Note There are limitations to installing the tool and the update without a user interface by using the /quiet switch. When you use the /quiet switch, the user interface is not completely hidden. To work around this issue, follow these steps to install the tool and the update in silent mode:
  1. Extract the .msi file and the .msp file for the tool and for the update. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Run the tool together with the /extract switch.
    2. Select a location to which you want to extract the files.
  2. Open a command prompt.
  3. At the command prompt, type the following command to install the tool and the update in silent mode.
    msiexec /I PathOfTzmove.msi PATCH=PathOfTzmove.msp /qn
    Note Replace PathOfTzmove.msi with the path of the Tzmove.msi file. Replace PathOfTzmove.msp with the path of the Tzmove.msp file.

You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this hotfix.
