SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. On a computer that has Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX installed, you run a shell script in the Korn shell or in the C shell. The shell script starts another shell script in a child process. In this scenario, the console application that is running the first shell script stops responding.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
