Network Map is not displayed correctly in Windows Vista when you use DBCS characters in the SSID for the network name

You create a temporary, wireless, computer-to-computer network in Windows Vista. Additionally, you use double-byte character set (DBCS) characters in the Service Set Identifier (SSID) for the network name. However, the Network Map is not displayed correctly.

This issue occurs because you cannot use DBCS characters in the SSID for the network name in Windows Vista.

To work around this issue, do not use DBCS characters in the SSID for the network name.

Windows Vista provides a Network Map that is a graphical view of how computers and devices are connected on the network. The Network Map uses the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) protocol to map computers and devices on the network.
