Article ID: 935264 - Last Review: April 13, 2007 - Revision: 2.1 The display is turned off and you do not receive notification when a Windows Vista-based computer goes into hybrid sleepSYMPTOMSYou enable the hybrid sleep feature in the Windows Vista power plan settings. When the computer goes into hybrid sleep, you are not notified when the display is turned off. Additionally, you do not receive notification to help you determine whether the computer is still in transition to hybrid sleep. For example, the light-emitting diode (LED) light on a mobile PC does not blink. CAUSEBy design, Windows Vista works in this manner. Windows Vista immediately turns off the display when the computer goes into hybrid sleep. This behavior is intended to give users a fast on, fast off experience. MORE INFORMATIONWe recommend that you make sure that the transition to hybrid sleep is fully completed before you move a mobile PC. This action enables all data to be successfully written to memory and to disk. Hybrid sleep is a low-power sleep state that helps protect open programs and documents while the computer sleeps. By default, the hybrid sleep feature is turned off on mobile PCs.
