On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you try to install a Web Services on Devices (WSD)-based device on a Windows Vista-based computer over a secure channel, the installation is not completed successfully. You do not receive an error message when this problem occurs. CAUSEThis problem occurs if the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the WSD-based device is longer than 48 characters. In this situation, there is an internal buffer that is used to generate the Plug and Play ID for the device. The size of this internal buffer is insufficient. RESOLUTIONService pack informationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows Vista.
