On This PageSYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario:
CAUSEThe DMFP client continuously tries to resolve the host name of the device management point (DMP) from the DNS server. The public DNS servers outside the corporate network cannot resolve the host name of the internal DMP. Therefore, the DMFP client receives a "No such name" response. However, the DMFP client continues to try the DNS query every 10 seconds. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, apply the hotfix on the devices that have DMFP installed. You can also install the hotfix on an SMS site server and then deploy the Devmgmt.msi package to all the DMFP clients. Hotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article.
