SYMPTOMS

When concurrent open and close operations occur on a file handle in Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA), Windows Server 2003 R2 may crash.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because a race condition is introduced in the Psxdrv.sys file when concurrent open and close operations occur on a file handle.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, apply the hotfix rollup package that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 936051. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
