SYMPTOMS

When you use a 32-bit program to play a DVD movie in a 64-bit version of Windows Vista, you do not hear any audio.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the 32-bit program outputs Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format (S/PDIF) raw data to the audio playback device by using the WaveCyclic miniport driver.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information
