SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • In the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, a client sends a request to a server by using the HttpWebRequest class.
  • The server sends an HTTP response to the client by using chunked transfer coding.
  • The connection is closed before the chunked HTTP response is completely sent to the client. For example, the connection is closed when a network error occurs or when the server is restarted.
In this scenario, the client cannot determine whether the chunked HTTP response is completed.

Note A chunked HTTP response is completed when the last chunk is sent to the client. The length of the last chunk is 0 (zero).
