SYMPTOMS

When two threads call a fusion API to access the same assembly, a deadlock may occur between the two threads in the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the common language runtime (CLR) loader calls fusion APIs in garbage collection cooperative mode.

RESOLUTION

This hotfix is included in Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2). To obtain the service pack from Microsoft Download Center, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
