SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer that is running Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006.
  • You add a Web reference to a Web Services Description Language (WSDL) file that contains an element type definition.
  • The name of the element type definition contains a hyphen.
  • You compile the WSDL file to create an XML Schema (.xsd) file on the computer.
In this scenario, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Specify a valid .NET type name for this root node. The current .NET type name of this root node is invalid
Additionally, a CPU usage monitor shows that the CPU of the computer that is running BizTalk Server 2006 is running at 100 percent or near 100 percent.

Note This problem does not occur in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the root node contains a hyphen.
