FIX: Indexes that are rebuilt after you run a maintenance plan that contains the Rebuild Index task have the same Ignore Duplicate Key setting as the Ignore Duplicate Key setting of the Rebuild Index task

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft SQL Server 2005, you have a maintenance plan. The maintenance plan contains a Rebuild Index task. After you run this maintenance plan, the rebuilt indexes have the same Ignore Duplicate Key setting as the Ignore Duplicate Key setting of the Rebuild Index task.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2.

MORE INFORMATION

After you install SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (SP2), you must locate the indexes that contain the incorrect Ignore Duplicate Key setting. Then, you must manually set this setting to the correct value for these indexes.
