You cannot perform pixel-level editing of an image in Expression Design

Expand all | Collapse all

INTRODUCTION

This article describes a design limitation that exists in Microsoft Expression Design.

MORE INFORMATION

Expression Design was developed from Creature House Expression 3.0. However, Expression Design does not contain the pixel-level bitmapped (raster) image editing capabilities that are available in Creature House Expression 3.0.

The following list contains the functionalities of Creature House Expression that are not included in Expression Design:
  • The ability to distort BITMAPS by using "warp" paths
  • The ability to apply Adobe Photoshop filters to BITMAPS
Therefore, if you must perform pixel-level editing of an image that you want to use with Expression Design, you must perform this kind of editing before you import the image into Expression Design. In this scenario, you must perform the pixel-editing operation by using a program that contains this kind of functionality.
