On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you try to create a cluster file share resource in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based cluster, you receive the following error message: System error 87 has occurred (0X00000057) The parameter is incorrect. \\?\GlobalRoot\Device\harddiskvolume1\share CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Cluster service does not accept an NT path when you create a cluster file share resource. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
