A notification subscription's Alert Criteria options do not work as expected in System Center Operations Manager 2007

In Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007, a notification subscription's Alert Criteria options do not work as expected. If any check box is cleared in the AND any checked category list on the Alert Criteria page, notifications are not sent for any alerts.

This problem occurs because of an error in the System Center Operations Manager 2007 Operations console.

Hotfix information

Hotfix installation instructions

To apply this hotfix, follow these steps:

1. Copy the SYSTEMCENTEROPSMGR07-RTM-KB937470-X86-AMD64-ENU.MSI file from the hotfix package to a local folder or to a shared folder.
2. Run SYSTEMCENTEROPSMGR07-RTM-KB937470-X86-AMD64-ENU.MSI locally on each applicable computer that has the Operations console installed.
   
   Note You can run this file either in Windows Explorer or at a command prompt.
3. On the root management server, restart the OpsMgr Health Service.
4. Open the Operations console by using the /ClearCache switch. For example, run the following command at a command prompt:
   microsoft.mom.ui.console.exe /clearcache

Prerequisites

No prerequisites are required.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
