Issue that the update fixes

This update fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

A calendar item that is marked as private is opened if it is found by using the Windows Desktop Search feature.

When you use Windows Desktop Search to search a shared calendar in Outlook 2007, the Desktop Search results list contains private calendar items. These private calendar items can be opened from the results list. You are not prompted to enter your credentials.

Known issue that may occur after the update is installed

When you start one of the 2007 Microsoft Office programs on a computer that is running Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager, you may receive the following error message:

Office application version does not match.

You do not have to install this update if you have a later version of the files that are listed in the table.

To determine the version of the files that are installed on the computer, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

Click Start, and then click Search.
In the Search Results window, click All files and folders in the Search Companion pane.
In the All or part of the file name box, type the file name, and then click Search.
In the list of files, right-click the found file, and then click Properties.
On the Version tab, examine the version of the file that is installed on the computer.

Information for administrators about .msp files

The administrative update consists of a full-file Microsoft Windows Installer (.msp) file. The .msp file is packaged in a self-extracting executable file. The following .msp file is distributed in this update:
