You can upgrade the 180-day licensed evaluation version of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 to the full product version without having to uninstall the evaluation version and then having to reinstall the fully licensed version. The following three upgrade options are available based on the evaluation version that is currently installed:
Operations Manager 2007 Evaluation version (original release version) Build 6.0.5000.0000
Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 Release Candidate (RC) Evaluation version Build 6.0.6246.0000
Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 Release (RTM) Evaluation version Build 6.0.6278.0000
To upgrade the evaluation version of Operations Manager 2007 (original release version), you must use the LicensingWizard tool. However, to upgrade the evaluation version of Operations Manager 2007 SP1 RC, you do not have to use the LicensingWizard tool. To upgrade Operations Manager 2007 SP1 RC, use the SetupOM.exe file from the Select CD image. For more information, see the appropriate licensing upgrade option in the "More Information" section.
To upgrade the evaluation version of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 to the full product version, use one of the following options based on the evaluation version that is currently installed.
Locate the folder where you extracted the Select CD image: \SupportTools\system_architecture
Note The system_architecture placeholder represents the architecture of the computer that you are using. For example, this placeholder should be i386 on an x86-based computer.
Run the LicensingWizard.msi file on the Root Management Server (RMS), and then follow the instructions in the Licensing Wizard. You only have to run the LicensingWizard.msi file one time per management group.
Note After the license has been upgraded to the full product version, you can install Service Pack 1 by using the SP1Upgrade.exe file which is included with the SP1 Upgrade package. To download this package, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

To update the license, run the SetupOM.exe file instead of the SP1Upgrade.exe file on the Root Management Server (RMS).
On the startup screen, select Install Operations Manager 2007. A Welcome to the System Center Operations Manager 2007 Server Setup Upgrade Wizard dialog box will appear.
In the Welcome to the System Center Operations Manager 2007 Server Setup Upgrade Wizard dialog box, click to select the Upgrade to Operations Manager 2007 SP1 check box, and then click Next.

To upgrade other roles that you may have deployed on other servers, run the SetupOM.exe file from the Select CD image to upgrade the components on those servers. These servers may include Report Server, Web Console Server, Secondary Management Servers, Gateway Servers, and Management Console computers.
