Article ID: 938093 - Last Review: June 19, 2007 - Revision: 1.0 Systems Management Server 2003 does not update the policy entries in the database to reflect the changes in the Sms_def.mof fileSYMPTOMS In a field that is defined in the Sms_def.mof file on a Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003-based computer, you change the key identifier, or you add the key identifier. However, SMS does not update the policy entries in the database to reflect the changes. Additionally, this problem may significantly reduce the throughput of the Inventory Dataloader component. You may also find entries in the Dataldr.log file that show multiple attempts to re-create stored procedures for inventory. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use the Delgrp.exe utility to delete the class. By using the Delgrp.exe utility to delete the class, you also delete all the data that the class contains. Additionally, when you delete the class, SMS recreates the class together with the correct key definitions. Note The Delgrp.exe utility is in the SMS Support Tools. This utility lets an administrator delete an inventory class from the SMS database. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
