SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server, you receive the following error message when you perform a merge operation:
TF14087: Cannot undelete because not all of the deletion is being undeleted

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Visual Studio 2005 service pack that contains this hotfix.

Prerequisites

You must have Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server (databases) Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed to apply this hotfix. If you are using a dual-tier Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server installation, you must install Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server SP1 on both the application tier and the data tier.

For single-server deployment, apply this hotfix on the Team Foundation Server 2005 SP1 server. If you are using a dual-tier Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server installation, apply this hotfix on the data tier server.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

Hotfix replacement information

This hotfix does not replace any other hotfixes or any binary files. The hotfix updates some Team Foundation Server 2005 database stored procedures.
