SYMPTOMS

When you open Volume Mixer in Windows Vista, the volume slider may appear with a black background.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because, under certain rare conditions, Volume Mixer may not redraw the background correctly. This problem is most likely to occur when other CPU-intensive programs are running.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, slide the volume slider up or down to update the screen.

Note This problem may reoccur the next time that you open Volume Mixer.
