In a Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 environment or in a Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007 environment, consider the following scenario:
| • | You are running the management server role and the agent components on Windows Vista-based or Windows Server 2008-based computers. |
| • | You enable the User Account Control feature on these computers. |
In this scenario, you cannot obtain elevated user rights for workflows that need these rights.

Hotfix installation instructions
This hotfix must be installed on each computer that meets any of the following criteria:

| • | The computer is a System Center Operations Manager 2007 gateway server. |
| • | The computer is a System Center Essentials 2007 management server. |
| • | The computer is a System Center Essentials 2007 agent. |
To apply this hotfix, follow these steps:
| 1. | Copy the SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-RTM-KB938510-X86-AMD64-ENU.MSI file to a local folder or to a shared network folder that is available. |
| 2. | Run the file that you copied in step 1 locally.
Note: You can run this file from either Windows Explorer or at a command prompt. The hotfix installation process restarts the Operations Manager service. |
The agent computers are automatically updated. However, you must approve the update in the "Pending Management" folder. To do this, follow these steps:
| 1. | On the computer that is running the management server role, click Start, point to All Programs, point to System Center Operations Manager 2007, and then click Operations Console. |
| 2. | Select the Administration view, expand Administration, expand Device Management, and then click Pending Management. |
| 3. | To apply this hotfix, review and then approve the agent computers in the "Pending Management" folder. |
For the agent computers that are installed after the hotfix is applied on the server, make sure that you approve the installation in the "Pending Management" folder. To do this, follow these steps:
| 1. | Make sure that the manual installation property is enabled in the Operations Console "Pending Management" folder. |
| 2. | In the "Agent-managed Computers" folder, right-click the agent. Then, run the Update Agent Settings task. |
