A message appears in the Information Bar when you join a Live Meeting 2005 session for the first time: "This website wants to run the following add on: MSXML 3 SP 2 <Number> from Microsoft Corporation."

SYMPTOMS

When you try to join a Live Meeting session the first time, you receive the following message in the Information Bar in Windows Internet Explorer 7:
This website wants to run the following add on: ‘MSXML 3 SP 2 Number from Microsoft Corporation’. If you trust the website and the add-on and want to allow it to run, click here…

CAUSE

You receive this message because Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2005 requires this update to Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) before the Live Meeting console can automatically start.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Click the message that appears in the Information Bar in Internet Explorer 7, and then click Run ActiveX Control.
  2. When you are prompted to run the ActiveX Control, click Run.
  3. After the ActiveX Control is installed on the computer, you receive the following message in the Information Bar:
    To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options…
  4. Click the Information Bar, and then click Download file.
  5. In the File Download Security Warning dialog box, click Save in order to save the file so that you can install the file later. Or, click Run in order to download and install the file.
  6. After the file download is complete, click Run.
  7. In the Internet Explorer Security Warning dialog box, click Run.

    Note The Meeting Entry page displays a message that requests you to wait. Then, the Live Meeting console loads.
