Error message when you try to install updates on a Windows Vista-based computer by using Windows Update or when you try to perform a backup: "Code 0x8007000b"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install updates on a Windows Vista-based computer by using Windows Update, you may receive the following error message:
Code 0x8007000b
If you try to perform a backup by using the "back up files" feature, you may receive the following error message:
File backup could not save your automatic backup settings for the following reason:
Transaction support within the specified file system resource manager is not started or was shutdown due to an error. (0x80071A91)

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the transactional log file that is used by the NTFS file system is corrupted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
1.Click StartStart button, type cmd in the Start Search box, and then right-click cmd in the Programs list.
2.Click Run as administrator, and then click Continue.User Access Control
				permission If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
3.At a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\
4.Restart the computer.
5.Use Windows Update to install the latest updates.
