MORE INFORMATIONThere are many different types of storage controllers. Examples include SCSI adapters, redundant array of independent disks (RAID) adapters, and Fiber Channel adapters. Windows does not include drivers for every type of storage controller. Additionally, Windows Home Server works best when each attached hard disk drive is accessed as an individual hard disk drive. You can configure some computers and motherboards so that the hard disk drives are managed as RAID by the basic input/output system (BIOS) on the motherboard. For best results, we recommend that you turn off this configuration before you install Windows Home Server.
