This problem occurs because the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service maintenance procedure marks the folders as unused if the folders are not found in the Active Directory directory service.
By default, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service maintenance procedure deletes the folders after eight days. If there are more than one thousand offline address books in Active Directory, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service maintenance procedure reads only the first one thousand offline address books. The rest of the offline address books are marked as unused.
