After you encrypt resources by using the PACE Anti-Piracy InterLok system on a Windows Vista-based computer, some applications may work incorrectly. This problem occurs if the applications access the encrypted resources.
This problem is caused by a security design change in Windows Vista. In Windows Vista, the Windows System Resource Manager (WSRM) validates the data structure more thoroughly than in Windows XP.

Hotfix informationA hotfix is available to resolve this problem. After you enable the hotfix, the hotfix turns off the validation for some specific processes. Therefore, the applications can work correctly. However, after the validation is turned off, these specific processes become vulnerable to attack by corrupted files. Also, these processes may load encrypted resources that are not valid. A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
