Article ID: 939797 - Last Review: October 26, 2007 - Revision: 1.2 FIX: Message delivery may be delayed until 11:59 PM in BizTalk Server 2006
On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 creates a subscription for a request-response message, BizTalk Server converts Universal Time Coordinated (UTC) time to the local time. To do this, BizTalk Server calculates the difference between the current local time and the current UTC time. BizTalk Server then adds this value to the service window of the send port. This time difference could enable the service window, even though you did not explicitly enable the service window on the send port. This problem may cause message delivery to be delayed until 11:59 PM. The client application may also receive time-out messages instead of the expected response message. CAUSEThis problem occurs when there is a difference of several milliseconds between the calls that BizTalk Server makes to the GetUTCDate function and to the GetLocalDate function. This difference can cause BizTalk Server messaging to enable the service window on the send port even though the creator did not explicitly enable the service window. The End Point Manager (EPM) does not request a service window when the EPM creates the subscription. Therefore, the response messages are not delivered from the MessageBox until 11:59 PM. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, use one of the following methods. Method 1Upgrade the computer that is running BizTalk Server 2006 to BizTalk Server 2006 R2.
