This article describes how to remove all components of Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Planning Server 2007.

To remove all components of PerformancePoint Planning Server 2007, follow these steps:
  1. Remove PerformancePoint Planning Server. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
    2. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, click Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 Planning Server in the Currently installed programs list, and then click Remove.

      Note Step 1b performs the following operations:
      • Removes the program files for PerformancePoint 2007 Planning Server
      • Removes the registry items that are related to PerformancePoint 2007 Planning Server
      • Updates other related configurations
      However, you must follow steps 1c through 1n to manually remove other items that the PerformancePoint Planning Server 2007 Setup program added or updated.
    3. Start SQL Server Management Studio, and then connect to the instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2005.

      Note The instance of SQL Server 2005 hosts the PerformancePoint 2007 Planning Server database.
    4. In Object Explorer, expand Databases.
    5. Right-click PPSPlanningSystem, click Delete, and then click OK.
    6. Right-click PPSPlanningService, click Delete, and then click OK.
    7. In Object Explorer, expand Security, and then expand Logins.
    8. Right-click the SQL Server logon that you specify as the service identity account for the planning process service, click Delete, and then click OK.

      Note The SQL Server logon that you deleted is the account that PerformancePoint Planning Server 2007 uses for the service identity account.
    9. Exit SQL Server Management Studio.
    10. Click Start, click Run, type explorer, and then click OK.
    11. In Windows Explorer, delete the Log folder, the Audit Log folder, and the Trace Log folder.

      By default, these folders reside in the following location:
      C:\Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server\3.0
      Notes
      • When you use the Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Planning Server Configuration Wizard to configure the PerformancePoint Planning process service, you can specify a different location for the System log files. If you specify a different folder, you can delete these folders in the location that you specify.
      • If you do not enable system audit, the Audit Log folder does not exist.
      • If you do not enable trace logging, the Trace Log folder does not exist.
    12. In Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
    13. In the Computer Management window, expand System Tools, expand Local Users and Groups, and then click Groups.
    14. In the following local groups, remove the service identity account that is mentioned in step 1h:
      • IIS_WPG
      • Performance Log Users
  2. Remove PerformancePoint Planning Business Modeler. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
    2. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, click Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 Planning Business Modeler in the Currently installed programs list, and then click Remove.
  3. Remove the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
    2. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, click Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel in the Currently installed programs list, and then click Remove.

      Note Step 3b performs the following operations:
      • Removes the program files for the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel
      • Removes the registry items that are related to the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel
      • Updates other related configurations
      You must still follow step 3c to manually remove other files.
    3. Delete all the files in the following location:
      %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\IsolatedStorage
      Note If multiple users use the PerformancePoint Add-in for Excel on the computer, you must perform step 3c for every user.
