File formats that are supported in Works 9

This article describes the file formats that are supported in the following Microsoft Works 9 programs:

• Word Processor
• Spreadsheet
• Database
• Calendar

To open a file in a specific file format in Works 9, follow these steps:

1. Start Works 9.
2. On the File menu, click Open.
   
   Note In the Works 9 Calendar, click Import on the File menu.
3. In the Files of type list, click the file format that you want to open.
4. In the Look in list, locate the file that you want. Click the file, and then click Open.

To save a file in a specific format in Works 9, follow these steps:

1. Start Works 9.
2. On the File menu, click Save As.
   
   Note In the Works 9 Calendar, click Export on the File menu.
3. In the Save as type list, click the file format in which you want to save the file.
4. In the Save in list, locate where you want to save the file, type a name for the file in the File name box, and then click Save.
