This article describes the file formats that are supported in the following Microsoft Works 9 programs:

To open a file in a specific file format in Works 9, follow these steps:
- Start Works 9.
- On the File menu, click Open.
Note In the Works 9 Calendar, click Import on the File menu. - In the Files of type list, click the file format that you want to open.
- In the Look in list, locate the file that you want. Click the file, and then click Open.
To save a file in a specific format in Works 9, follow these steps:
- Start Works 9.
- On the File menu, click Save As.
Note In the Works 9 Calendar, click Export on the File menu. - In the Save as type list, click the file format in which you want to save the file.
- In the Save in list, locate where you want to save the file, type a name for the file in the File name box, and then click Save.
