In Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server (TFS), the Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Adapter adapter processes a changeset. The changeset contains a file that is moved between projects in Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server. In this scenario, the adapter may fail, and some data in the source code may be reported missing. Additionally, on the TFS application tier computer, the following event is logged in the Application log:
CAUSEThis problem occurs because of a code defect in the Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Adapter.dll file. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. MORE INFORMATIONTFS collects data about the operations that are performed on the server. This data is stored in a data warehouse. The data in the OLAP database comes from this data warehouse. The OLAP database uses this data for reporting. By default, the TFS warehouse is updated every hour by running registered data adapters. The registered data adapters are used to pull the necessary data from the TFS areas into the warehouse. The Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Adapter adapter collects information about source control operations.
