This article describes how to create a sales invoice for a job in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0.

You can create a sales invoice by using any of the following methods.

Method 1: Use job planning lines to create a sales invoice

  1. On the Jobs menu, click Job Planning.
  2. In the Planning list, click the planning line that you want to invoice.
  3. Click Functions, and then click Create Sales Invoice.
  4. Click OK when you receive the following message:
    The lines were successfully transferred to an invoice.

Method 2: Use job task lines to create a sales invoice

  1. On the Jobs menu, click Jobs, and then click Job Task Line.
  2. In the Task list, click the task line that you want to invoice.
  3. Click Functions, click Create Sales Invoice, and then click OK.
  4. In the job task line for which you created the invoice, click one of the contract columns, and then click the lookup button. Or, press F6.
  5. To retrieve the invoice that you created, click Functions, and then click Get Sales/Credit Memos.

Method 3: Use periodic activities to create a sales invoice

  1. On the Jobs menu, click Jobs, click Periodic Activities, and then click Create Sales Invoice.
  2. Click OK.

    Note This method provides a batch job that you can use to create the invoices for all the jobs.
