On a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP, you may receive the following Stop error message after you enable the Event Tracing for Windows (ETW) trace
log for an application:
0x0000007E (0xC0000005,
parameter2, parameter3, parameter4) SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
The problem does not occur if the same application runs
on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003.
Notes| • | The four parameters in the Stop error message vary depending on the
computer's configuration. However, the first
parameter is always 0xC0000005. |

This problem occurs because Event Tracing for Windows does not correctly manage its
allocated buffer. Therefore, the operating system accesses
an invalid memory space.
