SYMPTOMS

In a Microsoft Windows-based Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 client, when you try to start a Web conference that is hosted by Microsoft Office Communications Server, the Meet Now button is not displayed.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if one of the following conditions is true:
  • The connection to the server is unsuccessful.
  • The connection to the server is successful. However, Web conferencing is disabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, determine whether the connection to the server is successful. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In the upper-left corner of the Live Meeting client, click the arrow, and then click Open User Account.
  2. Type the sign-in name, and then click Advanced.
  3. Type the server name, and then type the user name and the password.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Test Connection. If the connection to Communications Server is successful, you receive the following message:
Your Live Meeting login information was successfully verified.
  6. Click OK two times.
If the connection to server is successful, Web conferencing may be disabled on the front-end server. A server administrator must determine whether Web conferencing is enabled. For more information about how an administrator can determine whether Web conferencing is enabled, see the "Information for Communications Server administrators" section.
