On This PageSYMPTOMSIf you configure one or more of the following Group Policy settings, the policy may not affect zone detection in Internet Explorer, even though Internet Options shows the followings settings:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Security Page CAUSEThis problem occurs because Internet Explorer 7 ignores the policies that are described in the "Symptoms" section. Therefore, the default values of these settings are used for evaluating the zone for a given URL.
If you configure a policy setting to a value other than the default value, a local site may appear as "Local Intranet" even though you expect it to appear as "Internet," or vice versa.
