For example, if you want to compose letters by using a certain letterhead, you can design the letterhead and then save the letterhead as a template. Finally, you can open the template and then add the body text of the letter. For each Works 9 program, you can create multiple templates. Error messages that you may receive when you delete a default templateYou may delete a template that you have specified as the default template. In this case, when you start the Works 9 program that is associated with the default template, you may receive error messages.Works Word ProcessorYou may decide to delete a custom template that is set as the default template for the Works Word Processor program in Works 9. However, when you start the Works Word Processor program, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:Works cannot access one or more files it needs to run the Word Processor. The files may have been renamed, deleted, or removed. Try reinstalling Works, and then starting the program again. Workaround for Microsoft Windows XP

Works SpreadsheetYou may decide to delete a custom template that is set as the default template for the Works Spreadsheet program in Works 9. However, when you start the Works Spreadsheet program, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:Cannot access the document path/filename. The document may already be open or it may be a read-only document. The name and path may be invalid, the document may no longer exist, or it may already be open. If you run Works from a network, you may have to wait until someone else closes Works. Works cannot open the default template path/filename. The file may be damaged. To fix this problem you should recreate your default template. WorkaroundIn response to the error message, click OK. The Works Spreadsheet program opens with the default settings. Works DatabaseYou may decide to delete a custom template that is set as the default template for the Works Database program in Works 9. However, when you start the Works Database program, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:Works cannot open the default template path/filename. The file may be damaged. To fix this problem you should recreate your default template. WorkaroundIn response to the error message, click OK. The Works Database program opens with the default settings.
