SUMMARYTo connect to the Games for Windows LIVE service, the UPnP service must be enabled in Microsoft Windows XP and on the router. This article helps you enable the UPnP service. MORE INFORMATIONFor the UPnP architecture to work in Windows XP, the Internet gateway device must appear in Network Connections. To make sure that the device appears in Network Connections, click Start, click Run, type ncpa.cpl, and then click OK. To make sure the router appears, click My Network Places in the Network Connections navigation pane, and then look for the router: Collapse this image ![]() Note The name that appears is the model name of the router.
