E74 error appears when you use your Xbox 360 console

Your TV or monitor displays the following error message in multiple languages: If you see a different error message or a code other than E74, search the Microsoft Knowledge Base for the error message or for the symptom.

This problem occurs when the Xbox 360 console experiences a hardware failure.

Step 1: Confirm the E74 error

To verify that your console is displaying the E74 error message, follow these steps:

1. Turn off the console.
2. Turn on the console.
3. Verify that your console displays the E74 error message.

Step 2: Submit a console repair request

If you are experiencing this problem, your Xbox 360 console must be repaired at our service center.
