E74 error appears when you use your Xbox 360 console

SYMPTOMS

Your console may display the following error message in multiple languages on your television screen or monitor:

E74. System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support.

If you see a different error message or a code than E74, your console may be experiencing a different problem. If this is the case, please refer to the "References/Links” section in this article.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the Xbox 360 console experiences a general hardware failure.

If you are experiencing this problem, you can submit a console-repair request online by using the links in the "Additional support" section. To confirm your console is displaying the E74 error message, follow these steps:

Turn off the console.
Turn on the console.
Verify that your console displays the E74 error message.
