943594 You experience performance issues after you install security update 934525 (MS07-059) in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 environment that contains many host-named site collections
935605 Issues that may occur when you use the volume shadow copy service (VSS) reference writer in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
937038 Error message when you try to connect to a site in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site collection: "HTTP 500 - Internal server error"
938663 One-time timer jobs in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or in SharePoint Server 2007 are delayed by at least one hour when the jobs are scheduled to occur during daylight saving time (DST)
942369 The standard Web Parts are not available in a custom .stp template file in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site collection
943548 Only the first three levels of items can be grouped in a custom data view in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 content
943727 A custom column is reordered incorrectly if you add a new item to the list after you upgrade to Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
945168 The SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration wizard does not finish successfully after you apply security update 934525 in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
942989 Some SharePoint timer job definitions are not restored successfully when you back up a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web application or a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Web application, and then you restore this application to a new farm
This hotfix package also fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • Error message when you try to export a custom list: "Cannot get the list schema column property from the SharePoint list"

The DATE field requirement is changed in a custom list on a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site. If you try to export the custom list to a spreadsheet, Microsoft Excel starts, and a workbook that contains the data does not appear. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Cannot get the list schema column property from the SharePoint list.
Note If you had custom lists before you applied this update, you must manually change the settings of the lists to export the lists to Excel. To do this, follow these steps.
    1. In your custom list on the SharePoint site, click Settings, and then click List Settings.
    2. Click Date and Time.
    3. In the Additional Column Settings section, type a date under Default value in the correct format, and then click OK. For example, type 12/12/2008.
    4. Click Date and Time again.
    5. In the Additional Column Settings section, change the default settings back to no default. To do this, click to select (None) in the Default value field, and then click OK.

Note The Default value setting caused the issue. The fix will now prevent the issue from breaking Excel.
  • New items on the RSS feed for a Windows SharePoint Services Web site do not appear

You use Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 or Windows Internet Explorer 7 as the RSS client to subscribe to the RSS feed on a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site. When you do this, new items do not appear when expected. Instead, the new items may appear several hours later.
  • Error message when you try to upgrade from Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003 to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007: "Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'AllUserData_Url'"

When you try to upgrade from SharePoint Portal Server 2003 to SharePoint Server 2007, you receive the following error message:
Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'AllUserData_Url'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.AllUserData'.
This issue may occur when a discussion board's name is an initial substring of another discussion board's name.
  • Some items that should not be exported are exported when you programmatically export items by using the "SPExportObjectType" property

You try to programmatically export items from a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site. If you use the SPIncludeDescendents property and set the SPExportObjectType property to a Windows SharePoint Services folder, some items that should not be exported are exported.
  • You receive an HTML rendering error message when you search for folders or for files if a folder name contains a period as the last character of the folder name

When a crawl is run on folders that contain a period as the last character of the folder name, the folders are crawled successfully. However, when you search for the folder or for a file that the folder contains, you receive an HTML rendering error message.
  • DACL information is not processed during an incremental crawl

If changes are made to the discretionary access control list (DACL), the DACL information is processed when a crawl is performed. However, if an incremental crawl is performed, the DACL information is not processed.
  • The "Current number of sites" field increases every time that you click "Refresh site" to verify the site content upgrade status

You run a gradual upgrade from Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 to Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. You verify the site content upgrade status by clicking Refresh site multiple times during the gradual upgrade.

When you do this, the value in the Current number of sites field increases by the number of sites that are not yet upgraded every time that you click Refresh site. If the Current number of sites field reaches the maximum site limit value, the gradual upgrade may not finish successfully.
  • Error message when you search for a single word during a BDC search in a SharePoint Server 2007 production farm: "No results matching your search were found"

You run a search on a Business Data Catalog (BDC) data source that is contained in a SharePoint Server 2007 production farm. If you search for a single word, you receive the following error message:
No Results matching your search were found.
  • The "Welcome" e-mail message contains a Web site's old name after you rename the Web site to a new name

You rename a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site to a new name. Then, you add a new user to the Web site. When you do this, the "Welcome" e-mail message that is sent to the new user contains the Web site's old name.
  • Incorrect results are returned when you query for content that exists after the first two slides in a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation

You query for content in a PowerPoint presentation that is saved on a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site. If the content exists after the first two slides, incorrect results may be returned.

This issue occurs if the slides after the first two slides in the presentation include multiple-language content.
  • A Web page to which you have Read permissions may not load as expected if a Calendar Web Part is set to Calendar view

You browse to a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site or to a SharePoint Server 2007 Web site. You browse to a Web page to which you have Read permissions. If the Web page contains a Calendar Web Part that is set to Calendar view, the whole Web page may not load as expected.
  • Excel workbooks that contain a name definition string value are not found in the search results

You search a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site that contains Excel workbooks. If the workbooks contain a name definition string value, the Excel workbooks are not found in the search results.
  • Cannot delete or move a file in a folder that is named "Forms"

You have a folder that is named "Forms" in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site collection. You try to delete or to move a file in the Forms folder from a client computer. When you do this, you receive one of the following error messages:
    • If you try to delete a file in the Forms folder, you receive the following error message:
Cannot complete this action. Please try again.
    • If you try to move a file from the Forms folder to another location, you receive the following error message:
Unable to move URL of the file.
Note If you log on to the server to move the file from the Forms folder to another location, you receive the following error message:
You cannot copy or move the file between the Forms directory and a document library. First copy the file outside of the site and then upload from that location.
  • The SPWriter.exe application fails when two SSPs are configured on the same server

You run the SPWriter.exe application in a SharePoint Server 2007 farm environment. If two shared services providers (SSPs) are configured on the same SharePoint Server 2007 server, the SPWriter.exe application fails in the OnIdentify event.
  • Cookies that should be retrieved and saved are not found in Forms-Based Authentication content

When a crawl is performed on Forms-Based Authentication content, cookies that should be retrieved and saved are not found.
  • A user who does not have a Microsoft Live ID account may not have access to Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 content

If a user who does not have a Microsoft Live ID account is added to Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, the binary ID account for the user is the same as the user's e-mail address. This condition may cause the user not to have access to some items in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site collection.
  • CPU usage is higher than expected when a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site is provisioned

When a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site is provisioned, the provisioning process is slower than expected, and CPU usage on the server is higher than expected.
  • Custom view settings are lost in a List View Web Part when you deploy Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 content

You deploy Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 content. If the content contains a Web page that has custom view settings in a List View Web Part, the custom view setting is lost when the content is deployed.
  • Error message in the crawl log after you migrate users: "Error in the Site Data Web Service"

You use the Stsadm.exe command-line tool to migrate users. When the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web sites are crawled and are indexed, the following error message is logged in the crawl log:
Error in the Site Data Web Service. (Value does not fall within the expected range.)
  • Error message when you try to create a new blog entry: "Word Cannot register your account"

You try to create a new blog entry on a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site. You click Launch Blog Program to post to start Microsoft Office Word 2007. After you click OK in the New SharePoint Blog Account dialog box, you receive the following error message:
Word Cannot register your account. The provider where you are trying to publish is unavailable.
  • A query that uses the "BreakRoleInheritance" function takes much longer than expected to retrieve items from a list

You use a query to retrieve items from a list in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site collection. If the query uses the BreakRoleInheritance function, the query takes much longer than expected to finish.
  • Content that contains a list name that is the same as a deleted list name is not deployed in an incremental deployment

You delete a list in content in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site collection and then re-create the list by using the same name. Then, you run an incremental deployment to deploy the content. When you do this, the content is not imported and deployed.
  • Memory usage for the OSearch process increases every time that a crawl is run

Every time that a crawl is run to crawl site collections, memory usage for the OSearch process (Msssearch.exe) increases.
  • Permissions cannot be set for more than 997 items in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site collection

You add new items that contain item-based permissions to a list in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site collection. If you add more than 997 items, the new items are added to the list as expected. However, you cannot set the permissions on item 998 and beyond.
