FIX: SQL Server 2005 may send error information for the same problem many times when a fatal error occurs

Consider the following scenario:

• In Microsoft SQL Server 2005, a fatal error occurs.
• Then, SQL Server sends error information to Microsoft by using the "Dr. Watson for Windows" tool.
• The error information contains a bucket ID.

In this scenario, SQL Server may send the error information for the same problem many times by using separate bucket IDs.

This issue occurs because the SQL Server database engine provides an incorrect exception address to the "Dr. Watson for Windows" tool.

The fix for this issue was first released in Cumulative Update 4. You must apply a SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 hotfix to an installation of SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2.
