SYMPTOMS

On a newly created Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 database, you run the isinteg –s <servername> –test alltests command. However, the Exchange Server 2007 database does not run the Isinteg command together with a -fix switch, and then you receive the following error message:
Isinteg: the request to cancel verification process failed.
Isinteg: the request to stop verification process failed.
The verification has probably been interrupted.
Please review the log file for more information.

Additionally, the following error message is logged in the Isinteg.pri log in the MDBTEMP folder:

CAUSE

This issue occurs because several columns in a newly created database do not have any values. However, the Isinteg command expects these missing initialized values.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the following update rollup:
971534 Description of Update Rollup 1 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2

Notes
  • For all databases that are created after you install this update, Exchange Server 2007setsan initial value when a column is created.
  • For the databases that were created before you install this update, Exchange Server 2007runs a check when a mailbox store is dismounted. If a column does not have a value, Exchange Server 2007 sets an initial value.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
