SYMPTOMS

Consider following scenario:
  • On a Windows XP Service Pack 2-based printer server, you enable the Enable advanced printing features setting in the printer properties for a printer.
  • You use this printer to print some Japanese characters from a Windows Server 2003-based client computer.
In this scenario, the printed Japanese characters appear as boxes. This problem occurs even if both the printer server and the client computer have the files for East Asian languages installed.
